Cologne, June 12th, 2019

The German regional airline Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) has reached an agreement with the Independent Flight Attendant Organisation (UFO) on a collective agreement for cabin crew members. The first collective agreement for cabin crew members in the history of LGW will apply to 230 employees from July.

The collective agreement was concluded just two months after the takeover of LGW by Zeitfracht. It is thus an important step for LGW. The Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group only took over LGW from the Lufthansa Group at the beginning of April 2019. At the same time, a longer-term wet lease agreement between LGW and Eurowings began.

Dominik Wiehage, Managing Director of LGW, is pleased with the agreement: “The conclusion of the collective agreement is an important signal to all LGW employees and shows the cabin employees good prospects. We are pleased that only two months after taking over the company we were able to find a satisfactory solution for all parties involved. While we have gone to the limits of what is economically viable, we also regard the agreement as an investment in the future. On this basis, we want to take the next steps in the company’s development together”.
