Zeitfracht Group continues to expand. The Berlin-based logistics group is investing a double-digit million amount in the expansion of its fleet. It has now turned options on 30 new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks into firm orders. This increases the Zeitfracht Group’s order for the currently safest and most environmentally friendly truck on the market to almost 100.

The first eight trucks of the latest Mercedes production series were handed over to the family-owned company on the occasion of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Centre Berlin. The other trucks will be put into service until the beginning of 2020. The average list price of a truck is 200,000 Euros.

Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of Zeitfracht Group: “Following the takeover of the KNV Group, the purchase of the new trucks is an important step in our company’s expansion strategy. The enlarged pool of trucks offers us the opportunity to grow further. In addition, the new vehicles bring great progress, especially in the areas of safety and environmental friendliness. As a responsible company, we are committed to this.”

The Zeitfracht Group took over and integrated the Stuttgart book logistics company Koch, Neff and Volckmar on 1 August 2019. KNV Zeitfracht GmbH supplies its customers in German-speaking countries overnight with books, calendars and many other book trade articles from the wholesale warehouse in Erfurt. The logistics centre is one of the most modern warehouses in Europe. The company has around 590,000 articles from more than 5,000 suppliers in its product range.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros is currently considered the safest truck on the market. In addition to the latest turning, braking and lane-keeping technology, the new model features a 360-degree camera system that replaces the classic exterior mirrors. The new series also has lower fuel consumption and is therefore more environmentally friendly and economical compared to the predecessor model.
