For the first time, the Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group has a supervisory board: The board consists of three experienced and distinguished managers. Thomas Winkelmann took over the chairmanship of the new board. Thorsten Dirks and Hans-Gerd Jauch complement the Zeitfracht Supervisory Board.
Thomas Winkelmann is an experienced aviation manager. Thorsten Dirks has his professional roots in telecommunications. Hans-Gerd Jauch is an experienced lawyer and restructuring expert. The new Zeitfracht Supervisory Board held its constituent meeting on July 30, 2020. All three members of the new board are now in charge of the fate of the rapidly growing company with headquarters in Berlin. The Zeitfracht Group is a third-generation family business with more than 2,700 employees. The company is primarily active in logistics.
Thomas Winkelmann was born in Hagen in 1959. He studied linguistics and ancient history at the Free University of Berlin and at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. He then completed postgraduate studies in business administration at the Free University of Berlin. In 2004 he completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard University. After gaining professional experience in management positions at Kaufhof and Deutsche Reisebüro, he joined Lufthansa in 1998. There he held various management positions until 2017, including CEO of the subsidiary Germanwings and member of the Lufthansa Passenger Board. He was then CEO of Air Berlin. Thomas Winkelmann has been working for the Zeitfracht Group since 2018.
Hans-Gerd Jauch was born in Bad Honnef in 1953. He is an experienced commercial lawyer, crisis manager and insolvency administrator. He is also a founding partner of GÖRG Rechtsanwälte. Hans-Gerd Jauch studied philosophy and law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn and initially worked in the medical field. In 1991 he started as a lawyer at Schlütter, Lüer & Görg in Cologne and became a partner of Lüer & Görg in 1992. In 1996 he was co-founder of GÖRG Rechtsanwälte. Since 1995 he has also handled insolvency proceedings, among others he became insolvency administrator of Arcandor, Primondo and Quelle, the largest German insolvency proceedings of the post-war period, in 2011. Since 2019 Jauch has been working in the law firm “Jauch Dahl Linnenbrink Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH”, which he founded.
Born in Hamburg in 1963, Thorsten Dirks was until recently a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and headed the subsidiary Eurowings. After studying electrical engineering/communications engineering at the University of Hamburg, Thorsten Dirks worked for various companies in the telecommunications industry, most recently as CEO of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG. Prior to this, he was CEO of the E-Plus Group, which is now part of Telefónica AG Deutschland, for seven years. Since 2011, he has also been responsible for the international mobile communications business of the Dutch telecommunications group KPN as a member of the Executive Board.
