KNV Zeitfracht is back on course for growth. One year after the takeover of KNV by the Zeitfracht Group, the leading logistics service provider for the book and media industry is back on course for growth. Despite the corona pandemic, it is recording rising sales and is hiring new employees in Erfurt. KNV Zeitfracht has also opened up as a logistics service provider for other industries.
Thomas Raff, management spokesman of KNV Zeitfracht: “We have realigned KNV Zeitfracht in many areas over the past twelve months. As part of the stable and reliable Zeitfracht Group, we are now excellently positioned for the future. Last year we created innovative solutions from which the entire book industry benefits.” In the logistics and transport sector in particular, the company has put its existing processes and offerings to the test, leveraged synergies and optimized processes. A special feature of the book industry is its high delivery speed. Bookstores are supplied overnight by wholesalers such as KNV Zeitfracht. KNV Zeitfracht will continue to adhere to this policy. With the newly introduced possibility of delivery in “36-hour cycles”, KNV Zeitfracht now also offers its customers the opportunity to save transport costs. As an alternative to overnight delivery, dealers can choose the new “36-hour cycle” for orders that are not time-critical, at lower delivery costs. KNV Zeitfracht’s new extensive strategic partnership with the DPD parcel service also enables the company to offer its customers a far-reaching service such as tracking their deliveries.
“Our industry is facing great challenges. We are happy to accept them and are looking for creative solutions”, says Raff. “During the lockdown due to the Corona pandemic our teams ensured that bookstores were able to meet their customers’ wishes in the best possible way despite all the restrictions. For example, we delivered directly to the end customers of almost 1,000 booksellers, thus saving many smaller bookstores from a complete loss of sales and its consequences”.
In the future, companies in other sectors will also be able to benefit from the expertise of KNV Zeitfracht. Recently, KNV Zeitfracht has started to offer complete fulfillment for manufacturers and online shops across all industries. The range of services covers the entire process chain from ordering to delivery of products. “We will soon be able to welcome the first major customer for this completely new service. The higher the capacity utilization of our logistics in Erfurt, the more our long-standing customers from the book and media industry will benefit from the synergies,” says Raff.
