Cologne/Bonn, Berlin, November 4, 2020. German Airways and Hertha BSC will say goodbye to Tegel Airport together on Saturday: the capital’s footballers will return to Berlin in the team plane after the match against FC Augsburg this evening. Hertha BSC uses the team plane – as do other sports teams – to get to their games safely and on time.
This means that the “Alte Dame” and German Airways are among the last to land at Tegel Airport before it is retired: Saturday, the last regular flights with passengers on board leave the former capital city airport.
The team of the Berlin Bundesliga club will fly from Berlin-Schönefeld to Memmingen and back to Berlin-Tegel after the match. Hertha BSC plays FC Augsburg at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the seventh matchday of the Bundesliga.
