Cologne/Bonn, 10 February 2021. Two strong brands in German aviation will be working closely together with immediate effect: German Airways has signed an exclusive service agreement with Cologne-based German Aviation Service (GAS). The service provider will handle all German Airways and German Airways Private aircraft throughout Germany in the future.
GAS is Germany’s leading executive handling supplier with a presence at nine German airports. The company, which has been in the market for more than 25 years, offers, for example, aircraft handling, catering, obtaining landing permits or supplying fuel. German Aviation Service also provides other services through its network partners.
In the future, GAS will manage the entire fleet for German Airways, which consists of Embraer E190 and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft. At the airports of Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Frankfurt Egelsbach, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart, German Aviation Service is represented by its own subsidiaries. At all other airports, the company works together with certified ground service providers and also coordinates the complete handling process for the Cologne/Bonn-based airline.
Maren Wolters, Managing Director of German Airways: “We want to offer our customers, most of whom expect exclusive VIP care, the maximum possible service at as many airports as possible. We can only do this with a strong partner, which we have found in German Aviation Service. The philosophies of our companies are a perfect match, and we look forward to our close cooperation in the future.”
Andreas Becker, CEO of German Aviation Service, said, “We are very pleased that we can now serve Germany’s second oldest airline. Our ambition is to elevate German Airways and German Airways Private services to a level that is not commonplace for us either. The airline has demonstrated a high level of flexibility, particularly in the current crisis situation, and we are very pleased to be able to support it in this way in the future.”
